Miss Caitlyn Olsen

I am so excited to be your child’s 8th grade special services teacher.

This is my first-year teaching here at Spring Hill Middle School and I am very excited to be working in this community. Before my time at Spring Hill Middle School, I have had experiences in teaching both English language arts at middle school and high school levels, as well as special services. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education for English language arts from Kansas State University. I am certified in both secondary English language arts and k-12 special education. Outside of teaching I enjoy painting, reading, hiking, biking, walking, and spending time with family!

Also, please utilize skyward, google calendar, and google classrooms. All of these can be used as resources to see what your child has for assignments.

I am thrilled to be starting on this year’s journey with your children!  I look forward to watching them learn, grow and have a fantastic time in 8th grade!

 

 

Grading policy: Students are able to earn 50 points a week. Students are expected to participate in their resource room. Participation looks like; working on given assignments in from core classes, asking for assistance from paras or teachers, working with partners if approved by educator, and using materials appropriately.

  Students are able to receive up to 50 points a week, if they participate appropriately and meet expectations in all of the following categories. Point values per week are included in parenthesis next to the category; Google classroom(10), Class notes (20), planner or calendar (5), resource room participation (10), and bringing all materials to class (5).
