    Hello My Name Is...

Lisa Lucas

Special Education 7th grade

Welcome to my classroom!  This is an exciting time for 7th grade students, and I will be here to guide your student along the way.  Even though this is my first-year teaching, I have been a part of the SHMS family for over 10 years.  Which, in many ways is very beneficial.  I truly understand the needs that students have and I have set up the best possible support team to meet all of the students’ needs.

In order to get to know me better, I would like to share a little bit of information about myself. My husband Troy and I have lived in Spring Hill for 21 years.  In that time, we have raised 3 children.  All three of our children have been a part of the Spring Hill school district.  Currently my daughters Kaylee and Alisyn are earning their degrees at PSU.  My son Cody is a senior at SHHS.  When we have spare time, we like to travel.  The best trips that we take are when we just jump in the truck and go!

Education is very important to me.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from FHSU and I am currently earning my Master’s Degree in Special Education at PSU.  I believe that working hard and achieving goals will help me better guide your students’ in the right direction to achieve their own educational goals!  With that, I want to build a relationship with each of my students.  As well as reaching out to parents and guardians to best support the needs of each student that walks through my door.

On a side note, I also coach 8th grade volleyball at SHMS.  I am a former two sport athlete that was fortunate enough to play both basketball and volleyball at the college level.  As a coach, I love teaching the game of volleyball to the girls.  So far, I have 2 League Championships and 4 Runner-up teams!  Go Mavericks!
